Now that I have my own place, I want to make it really special and personal through original art, whether made by me, my friends, or a professional artist. I have the first two categories covered, but today I made my first-ever big purchase from a gallery! It was very exciting!
I've passed this gallery several times because I have rehearsal (singing), nearby, and the art always looked amazing. So today I decided to finally make it a point to go in, especially since it's towards the end of the month and I happen to have a little extra scratch!
Well, I'm sooo glad that I went, because it's really amazing! It has so many amazing pieces, almost all under 300 dollars (and they're big!). They're all by local emerging artists, so not only are you getting a really cool piece of original art (which makes me personally feel oh-so-sophisticated and cultured
), but you also support your city arts!
It's called the Art Xchange, and it's on 16th between Guerrero and Dolores. They have paintings, prints, jewelry, and pottery, in a wide range of prices, and they're constantly changing their featured artists. I wish I could have bought more, but I will definitely be back in the future when I have a little bit of extra money again.
Now the question is, where in my house should I put it? Or in my office. . .?
Here it is, Valencia & XYZ:

Fendi
Fiorelli
Desigual
It's a fabulous piece!! I'd put it somewhere where you'd get to look at it often.
1o, and I'm totally checking out that gallery. Thanks for the tip!!
2how cool is that...thanks!
3Thank for the suggestion. I really like the piece that you bought.
4I went there a couple of months ago and fell in love with that gallery too. I really liked that they all kinds of art work. I saw some of Hillary William's work and I liked them too. Small world.
