The last Monday of every month, Fort Mason Center hosts free happy hour events. Make My Monday features live art, drinks ( i believe no host bar) & music. Grab a friend and co worker and take your Monday's back!
The event goes from 6:30 - 9:30 and you must be 21 & Over to attend.

My new favorite restaurant for take out!

I have friends from Pakistan, and whenever they visit me they cook a huge, delectable feast. And this restaurant's food tastes just like it.

A couple of my favorite dishes are Tandoori Fish and Chana Masala (garbanzo beans). And the Papadam (lentil wafers) are the shizz

The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the Raita (yogurt and cucumber) Everything else I've tried has been so good!
Some dishes get pretty spicy, so be sure to ask if you don't like lots of spice.

Yves Saint Laurent at the de Young

For those who are visiting or are from the SF and Love Fashion and its pioneers, this is the event for you! The De Young Museum is having a showcase of Yves Saint Laurent's many accomplishments!
I haven't gone yet so I can't tell you what to expect, but I'm gonna try to go as soon as I get some free time! I just wanted to get the word out there. According to going.com I think that the De Young will be the only place in the U.S. that will showcase his work. So it's worth taking advantage of! I think it would be a real treat to see! The exhibit ends April 5, 2009 so there's still time left! If anyone has gone please share what you thought of the event!

Best places to rollerskate in SF?

Ok, I'm pulling out my old Sketchers roller skates and I want to go skating outside.

However, I don't want to bite it on any of the many bad pieces of sidewalk around the city. I am going to head over to Golden Gate Park on Sundays and skate on the closed roads but where else can one skate without running into crowds of tourists, pedestrians or bad sidewalk?

So where are the best places to roller skate in San Francisco?

Downtown San Francisco's Open Public Spaces

Hey!

I've really gotten into visiting San Francisco's Open Public Spaces. Are you ladies familiar with these?

These are areas usually on the rooftops of newly constructed or repurposed buildings downtown that must by law be made available to the public during specific hours.

Example - Sky Terrace on the top of the Westfield Mall on Market Street and the Terraces at the new Hotel Intercontinental. Basically these are two beautiful landscapes rooftop or terraces where anyone can go and sit and chill for a while.

I really like the Sky Terrace at the Westfield Mall. You overlook the Emporium Dome and the Phelan Building. You can see almost all the city from the rooftop and they have Bistro Tables and benches so you can sit in the sun and just relax for hours.

To access most of the Open Public Spaces you have to tell the security guards of the location that you want to go up there. At the Westfield they direct you over to the SFSU Annex and to a special elevator that goes up to the 8th or 9th floor which is the Terrace.

I've taken some photos from the Sky Terrace roof that I'll have to post later. But I think if you have time you all should seek out these areas, most of which are in downtown office buildings and hotels and visit them.

I'll try to find the list that was posted on SFGate a few weeks back that tell you where they all are and how to access them.

gas prices in the bay area

It's really amazing how much we are paying for gas in the bay area. There used to be certain gas stations a person could go where they could find a cheaper price. Nowadays ,everywhere you go is expensive. The $4 gas price is only somewhat shocking to me since two days ago I had to pay $4.09 a gallon (and that's the low price). Lately I have been avoiding filling up my tank since gas can be $3.89 one day and then $4.09 the next. The reporter points out some high gas prices, but for those of us living here we've seen worse. My favorite part of this report is Scott's response to the gas prices.
